Reviving the raw power of ‘90s female-fronted alt rock.
Y’all Oughta Know channels the emotion and intensity of ’90s female-fronted rock into a powerhouse live show that blends nostalgia, joy, and pure cathartic release, where every chorus becomes a full-room sing-along.
Y’all Oughta Know is a five-piece Asheville-based cover band celebrating the fierce, cathartic, and unforgettable sounds of ’90s female-fronted alt and pop rock. With fierce vocals, tight harmonies, and dynamic musicianship, the band taps into the raw joy of a generation raised on CD players and angst.
Their set list spans anthemic hits and deep cuts alike, from Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple, The Cranberries, and Hole to cult favorites like The Breeders, Elastica, Belly, and Tracy Bonham. They also weave in pop and folk icons like The Cardigans and Lisa Loeb - plus a few surprises you forgot you loved.
The band features Dax Dupuy, an accomplished composer, lyricist and actor; Will Hartz, a seasoned entertainer and multi-instrumentalist; Ben Mackel, a professional singer-songwriter, composer and actor; Rachel Pankonin, a passionate vocalist with deep family musical roots; and Erik Pankonin, who cut his teeth playing in bands in and around San Francisco.
Each performance is a raucous trip through the era’s defining soundscape, equal parts nostalgia, catharsis, and sing-along joy. By the time “Zombie” rolls around, the whole crowd is on its feet, shouting along to every word.
A Y’all Oughta Know show feels like blasting your favorite mix CD with your best friends and singing at the top of your lungs, but bigger, louder, and full of heart.
